Punjabi Khichri Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
rice - 1 cup washed and soaked
yellow lentil - 1 cup washed and soaked
whole garam masala as required
salt - 1 teaspoon
oil - 3 tablespoon
water - 3 or 4 cups
red chilli - half teaspoon
onion - 1 medium chopped
garlic paste - half tablespoon

INSTRUCTION:
  1. Heat a oil in a vessel add onion fry till golden brown.
  2. Add ginger paste fry for 5 minutes.
  3. Add whole garam masala,salt and red chilli.
  4. Now add yellow lentil and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. After that add basmati rice,cook on medium flame.
  6. Put 3 or 4 cups water.
  7. Bring to boil.
  8. After 1 boil cover the pot and cook till rice and lentil are tender.
  9. Serve with simple yogurt.
